Service provided in healthcare in my opinion is a lot different from a product offered to a customer. Service is affected so much by human factor unlike products in a production line can have a consistent output on a certain time. Human interaction, communication, perception, etc between patients and healthcare providers play an important role so it varies from one situation to another. It would be nice for all healthcare workers to embrace Lean Six Sigma and apply the concept in providing good quality care. It will work, I believed, with a different twist as applied in manufacturing industries. With the upcoming changes in healthcare, increase patient population, and less staff mostly nurses, Lean can reduce a lot of wastes and Six Sigma can decrease the variation on patients complications and even death.Florence Edwardsnoreply@blogger.com
